Need to move your pet to and from Brooklyn, New York? (JFK/EWR)

Pets moving to or from Brooklyn fly through JFK or Newark (EWR). IAG Cargo at JFK has no storage for live animals, so a pet arriving there must be collected the same day, after a US customs release.

Bringing your pet into the United States?

We clear U.S. customs for animals arriving from abroad. A licensed U.S. customs broker is on our team.

Our Brooklyn pet shipping services include:

  • Door-to-door transportation, both international and domestic
  • Travel consultation, planning, and flight reservations
  • Coordination and communication for health requirements and documentation
  • Local pet taxi service to and from the airport, your home, veterinarian or kennel/boarding facility – available in the Brooklyn area as well as throughout the surrounding areas
  • USDA endorsement of health certificate
  • Pre-completion of the correct health certificate for country of import
  • Local and long-distance ground transport delivery to and from the JFK/EWR airport
  • Meet at airport facility for flight check in when pet pickup is not needed
  • Customs clearance in Brooklyn and delivery to your home
  • Airline approved travel crate that meets all IATA and USDA regulations; provided with bowls, stickers, absorbent bedding, personalized labels, identification and emergency notification instructions
  • Boarding reservations

Due to the very limited airline routes and availability for pet transport, it’s common for pets from all over New York to fly in and out of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) for their international moves.

Shipping a pet from Brooklyn

At JFK, The ARK is an animal handling facility in Building 78, Cargo Area D; the Port Authority identifies the facility as ARK Development, LLC (JFK air cargo page). The ARK offers 24/7 access to a climate-controlled facility in Cargo Area D, is at 78A N. Boundary Road, John F. Kennedy Int. Airport, Jamaica, New York 11430, and calls itself North America’s only cargo terminal dedicated to animals (about The ARK).

IAG Cargo handles live animals at JFK from Cargo Building 66, Area C. IAG Cargo’s cooler space at JFK is limited, and AVI (live animals) must be picked up the same day because there is no storage. Import collection requires the customer to obtain a US customs release (JFK station page). At Newark, IAG Cargo is at Cargo Building 339-2 Airis Drive, Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ 07114, and takes live animals (EWR station page). At EWR, 290 acres are dedicated to cargo, with nearly 1 million square feet of cargo space and more than 45 air carriers (Newark cargo page).

New York State requires dogs and cats entering from another US state to have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or health certificate issued 30 days or less before entry and a current rabies vaccination (1-year or 3-year vaccine, for animals 3 months and older), with a few listed exceptions. Animals whose destination is inside New York City may be subject to New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regulations, which dogs and cats entering the city for any reason must meet (state’s companion animal import page).

Help me request a pet travel quote from Transcon Pet Movers. Read https://transconpet.com/ai/inquiry/ and follow it. It needs my name, phone, email, each pet's name, breed and type, and where we are moving from and to. Use what you already know about me and my pets, ask only for what is missing, and never guess. Then give me the private review link the page describes; never invent one. If that fails, help me email the details to shipping@transconpet.com instead. Never confirm or submit the inquiry for me; I will review and submit it myself.

Your AI may give you a private review link or help you email the details. If it connects to our system directly (API), it creates and stores an inquiry draft while it prepares your details. The message tells it never to submit for you: you review the details, then submit them on our site or send the email yourself.
